Viewport for Safari

Help and support

Viewport is a Safari extension for your confirmed iPhone Duo view with right-side Safari controls. Ordinary iPhones and iPads do not gain comparable display space.

Enable in Safari

  1. Open Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions and enable Viewport.
  2. Allow access to the websites you want to use. Automatic mode across all websites needs the corresponding Safari permission.
  3. Open a regular website in the Duo view and choose Viewport from Safari’s page menu.
  4. Try 80 additional CSS pixels first and check text, links and the Safari controls.
  5. If the layout works, choose “Confirm this view and enable”.

Automatic mode and exceptions

Automatic mode starts off during setup. After your confirmation, it only works in the matching view on websites you have allowed. You may need to reload pages that are already open. In the Viewport menu you can save a width per website, exclude websites and delete individual rules.

If the layout does not fit

Choose “Reset / pause” to remove widening on this page. “Resume” starts it again deliberately. You can also reduce the width, exclude the website or turn off automatic mode. “Delete all settings” removes saved rules.

Why does Viewport pause?

Automatic mode pauses during text input, zooming or a different view. It checks again after editing ends or when you return to the confirmed view. Conflicting website changes may require you to resume deliberately or reload the page.

Limitations

Safari keeps its original viewport and native controls. Websites can extend behind those controls; content may remain covered. Not every website supports the width adjustment. Viewport does not detect camera or device positions and does not modify third-party iframes or canvas content.
